Handcrafted pieces rooted in care, creativity, and the joy of making.
Our story
Woven Stems Studio began with a simple idea: to keep creating.
After retiring, Freda Zicafoose and her sister-in-law, Laurie Traxler, found themselves drawn back to the kind of work that had always brought them joy—making things by hand, slowly and with care. What started as a shared creative outlet soon became something more: a small studio rooted in craftsmanship, connection, and the belief that beautiful objects can make everyday life feel more intentional.
Crafted with care
At Woven Stems Studio, every piece is thoughtfully made, not mass produced. From woven textiles to embroidered details and handcrafted decor, their work reflects a deep appreciation for texture, seasonality, and the quiet beauty of the home. Their offerings—like custom woven throws and hand-embroidered cards—are designed to be both meaningful and lasting, pieces that feel personal and lived-in from the moment they arrive.
What makes the studio special isn’t just the work itself, but the spirit behind it. Freda and Laurie create not out of urgency, but out of intention—taking the time to experiment, refine, and enjoy the process. Each item carries that care forward, becoming part of someone else’s home, story, or celebration.
Woven Stems Studio is, at its heart, about making—making with your hands, making with purpose, and making things that bring warmth into the spaces we live in.
“I recently purchased a few pieces from Woven Stems Studio, and I can honestly say they’ve added so much warmth and personality to my home. You can feel the care and intention in every detail—nothing feels rushed or mass-produced. It’s rare to find work that feels this personal.”
